AUM Architects is a collaborative architecture & design practice based in Gurgaon, New Delhi - NCR, India. AUM is the primal sound in space. Space is what we work with, what we give form and purpose to. The AUM sound reverberates through SPACE. It is the music of the SPHERES. Just like in the ancient times, where through architecture, there was a connection sought with the cosmos, here too, we try to discover through every design act of ours, the very same symbiosis with NATURE. In our experience, the key to this is through EMPATHY.

We at AUM believe that design constantly challenges the status quo and looks to innovation and cutting edge thinking to push the boundaries, thereby addressing & evolving new design paradigms. We want to be an integral part of “Design for Communities” and therefore strive to address the needs of people in a sort of “open source” approach to life. The essence of our way of designing is to address the fundamentals through intense programming, & offer solutions for creating designs that have a positive impact on the environment.

Our focus and ability in the time and cost management of a project has earned us the respect of our clients most of whom have been with us since our inception. Testimony to this is the fact that much our growth has been organic and over the years we have delivered multiple projects to our client set. Our approach to a project takes into consideration the interests of all the stakeholders - the client, the buyer, user and the community encompassing capital and running costs outlays, market perception, and comfort. While pushing the boundaries of design we believe that great architecture marries the interests of all the stakeholders harnessing the latest in technology, materials and processes to deliver a project that lives up to its promise in terms of time, costs and quality and quantity.

We see our practice as a laboratory for ideas and use our diverse backgrounds as a tool for creating contextual solutions. Alongside our practice we have been able to develop an extensive teaching activity visiting many universities such as SPA, SSAA, & AoA, with a focus on an interdisciplinary teaching practice. The practice chooses to redefine the relationships between landscape, architecture, infrastructure, and art and has a primary concern for communities, and the reciprocal relationship between the finished work and its physical and cultural impact. The diverse work the firm has engaged with also includes awards for performing arts center at Lucknow - IGCC, Memorial for MGR at Chennai, and very recently the STEAM award for the preview museum of the Museum of Science Fiction, Washington.
